On February 20, 2024, The Ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Eta Psi Omega Chapter's Advocate for Social Justice Committee hosted "The Roundtable - Women Uniting Against Crime" which featured a high level panel of women leaders representing law enforcement, the judiciary, mental health and healthcare administration.
Moderated by Committee Co-Chair Sister Tezel Lightbourne, the discussion with our dynamic panelists, Sandradee Gardiner, Senior Magistrate; Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings; Dr. Aubynette Rolle, Managing Director of Public Hospitals Authority; and Mrs. Phillipa Dean, Therapist, consisted of holistically understanding the root causes of crime, highlighting its impact on society, identifying solutions, and providing strategies for a safer Bahamas. Positive coping tips were also shared to help persons that endured traumatic experiences.
